Merry Christmas!

Dear Friends & Enemies (especially those responsible for inserting all those typos),

Friends are the reason the blog keeps going, and enemies keep us straight—and also provide us with many laughs. I’d be nowhere without either of you all. My most sincere and warmest thanks to all of you, especially if you’ve stuck around for the long haul.

We’ll next week look at how well we did in our 2020 predictions. I think we already know the answer: dismally. Time to polish your foreseeing googles for 20201 now.

No bad news today, though! We’ve plenty of time for it later.

The good news is that I found a publisher for my new book. Working on revisions now. Details soon!

We have been blessed to live in interesting times. We try to make the best of it, but some of us have bent to the winds. They are very strong. My prayer for all of you is to stay strong. The charity of our rulers has gone cold, but we still have our love of God and of each other. Never despair. Never give up. Never surrender!

Merry Christmas!

  1. Merry Christmas Briggs.

I am extremely grateful for the COVID-19 work you have done and made public. It is important work and it has made life better.

  2. “Never despair. Never give up. Never surrender!” It’s okay to go underground and be devious, though.

The Chinese curse and mass stupidity are not good times in which to live in any universe. The Dark Ages were “interesting”, Venezuela is “interesting”, WWI was interesting. It does not mean any rational person would want to live in those times. Sorry, it’s crappy times and we all know it. It’s just some of us speak reality and don’t care if the whiney optimists don’t like it.

Glad you found a new vocation in writing books. It’s less soul-draining than a university position amongst the crazy. Good luck with it.

No way can we do anything but wild guesses for next year–no “model”, no math or observation whatsoever can ever predict what the totally insane will do. So, if guessing is fun, go for it. Kind of like hiring a gypsy with a fake crystal ball. I’ll pass on the futile game.

  3. Thank you, Mr. Briggs, for the many blogs, reports, comments, and shares during this tumultuous and ultimately disastrous year. You tried your best to inform through data and, at times, the sarcasm of the frustrated. Even though your intelligence shone through, it was not enough for the masses who need to follow their paths of destruction. Things tend to happen in cycles and I choose to believe this will as well. Maybe not soon enough for many of us, but eventually. May you continue the paths you choose and see more success down their roads. Happy Christmas and a better New Year!

  4. It was a situation for despair, but there was no alternative but to keep one’s nerve.
–Colonel Heinz-Gunther Guderian, a Panzer commander facing the Allied invaders on D-day

    Pessimism never won any battles.
    –Eisenhower

If thou workest at that which is before thee, following right reason seriously, vigorously, calmly, without allowing anything else to distract thee, but keeping thy divine part pure, as if thou shouldst be bound to give it back immediately; if thou holdest to this, expecting nothing, fearing nothing, but satisfied with thy present activity according to nature, and with heroic truth in every word and sound which thou utterest, thou wilt live happy. And there is no man who is able to prevent this.

This is not a debate over trifles but over whether we will be sane or not. –Epictetus

  5. Merry Christmas, Dr. Briggs, that was a great video! To quote the Bish: Thanks, thanks, thanks, may the Lord bless you!

After reading your little essay here, I polished my “foreseeing googles” as you instructed, and I’m pretty sure that wasn’t a typo. Safety Googles! The face mask for your eyes!

Speaking of face masks, here’s an excellent Covid-results comparison between two states with similar populations:

  6. Briggs, I have been following you for about 6 months now and I have to say I’m glad I randomly found you one day via a link on some other guy’s blog. You are a patriot and an honest man, sir. Thank you for helping me to figure out that I wasn’t crazy earlier this year.

    Merry Christmas!

    Your buddy,

    JR (aka Beto Landmasker)

  7. Merry Christmas to all!

(And please forget last year’s predictions: I was sure Biden would not make it through spring.. guess I got the year wrong?)

  8. Merry Christmas

My 2020 predictions were way off. Lots of what happened this year was considered “impossible” 12 months ago.

  9. Merry Christmas, and a big thank you to all for highlighting the myriad problems that occur when politicians and bureaucrats have no STEM.

  10. Merry Christmas, Mr Briggs.

You are one of a handful of good people that have helped me confirm that I am indeed sane, and that the prevailing madness can be countered with cool heads, common sense, consistent facts, comparative statistics and critical thinking.

    Thank you, Mr Briggs.

  11. Merry Christmas! I presume Catholics have as similar wording in their Bible, but, nevertheless, this is advice that matters:

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”-John 16:33

  12. Merry Christmass to you, William!!! And thank you for everything you are doing, it’s a lot of fun to read your articles and the comments.

I know what will happen next year, the public will be deceived and abused by incredible deception, the rich will get, by the same method, richer, the powerful more powerful. Bertrand Russell said that the “scientific government”, aimed at total power, one in which you won’t need police, because the people will obey like cattle, was to be considered achieved when the people say snow is black o, rather, dark grey. We have many instances in which they have tested the public succefully in that sense: boys that give birth, women with penuses, an illness without symptoms, an isolated virus that hasn’t been isolated, a cause of death that isn’t…….. a long etcetera…. Well, there you go, my predictions and the reasons that underpin them.

When Christianity ruled, lying wasn’t the norm, as wasn’t usury, pornography, broken families, etc. And they still believe in progress

  13. Well Merry Christmas to all and take heart things can’t get much worse
than what we’ve been through this year. Aphorism number 8 from the “Maxims
and Arrows” section of Friedrich Nietzsche’s Twilight of the Idols (1888). In full, it is:

Aus der Kriegsschule des Lebens. — Was mich nicht umbringt, macht mich stärker.
Out of life’s school of war — What does not kill me makes me stronger.

  14. A Happy Christmas to all, friends, opponents and enemies. And may 2021 be a better year (it could hardly be worse) with flash mobs, no masks, no social distancing.

And thank you Briggs for the good stuff (and the not-so-good). KTF

  15. Live is Worth Living – 1951-1957

Our family got a TV in 1954. Then – a “must watch” program.

[I used his first name yesterday to clue my older sister regarding a lumber company near our childhood home. The “Fulton Lumber” Company had a sign out front, that said:
“If you can’t stop in, smile as you go by.”]

  16. Merry Christmas Matt and all!! The Joy of Jesus to your hearts, always!! And thank you for a great year!!!

I marvel at the times we are in, because I remember when I first learned what was in the Book of Daniel and in the Book of Revelation, called Apocalypse in some Bibles, I did not think all that was told about in those books, was coming to pass in my lifetime, even its beginnings. Then I learned from someone that overall, the Catholic Church appeared to teach that 666 had already come to pass. I looked at the details and determined that had not happened in completion at all.

So, Here is what is going on and God has us each living now in these times. Taking Archbishop Vigano’s points one at a time, there is no doubt preparations are definitely in the making for the establishment of the kingdom of the Antichrist. The only way to continue on, is in Jesus Christ, the babe Whose birth we celebrate today.
