Culture

Our (New) Culture Must Be Destroyed

This is the new statue, which some are calling “art”, on London’s fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square.

It looks like a seagull took a dump on the beach and a kid stuck his toy in it.

The point is not that this material (hot glued together by some female) is not art, which is clear, but that the leaders who put it there hate the people who will now be forced to look at it. That hate is the point.

The haters must be destroyed, removed from power, cast into the outer darkness, scorned, ridiculed, rejected, deplatformed and canceled.

The problem is not cancel culture, then. It’s that the wrong things are canceled.

In days of yore, conservatives hating this kind of excrescence, this turd on a pole, would attempt to reason with its creators and supporters in a vain effort to convince these people of the evil nature of the thing, and plead with them to remove it.

These days, they may still try, but their voices are too meek. They believe, and many even insist, that the people placing the statue have a “right” to do so.

Neo-conmen don’t even bother doing that. They may cast a few zingers at the pseudo-art, if they can be nudged from their torpor, but they go no further. They surrender without a fight, or even acquiesce. The best you’ll get from them, or from any denizen of the left (all neo-conmen are leftists), is a “Eh, what’s the difference. Don’t look at it if it bothers you.”

That you can’t not look at it doesn’t occur to them. It’s like trying to escape rap music, which pummels ears in public most everywhere. You can’t not listen. You can’t not see.

This statue, like most modern pseudo-art and architecture, is not an accident.

Roger Scruton said “There has been…an uglification of modern life. Wherever we turn we find a deliberate desecration of beautiful things. The employment of shapes, forms, and gestures which are calculated either too repel us or simply to annihilate the surrounding experience of beauty.”

Deliberate. Calculated.

These words are correct. This is a planned attack, though the enemy sees it as beneficence. Not only this one statue, but almost every object or building deployed against the public in the name of art. This is a war of wrong against right, a war which the wrong side has won battle after battle.

Don’t think so? A major music publisher put out this song by a black woman—excuse me—BLACK! woman.

WAP

Whores in this house
There’s some whores in this house
There’s some whores in this house
There’s some?whores?in this house?(Hol’ up)
I said certified freak, seven?days a week
Wet-ass pussy, make that pullout game weak, woo (Ah)

[Chorus: Cardi B]
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, you fuckin’ with some wet-ass pussy
Bring a bucket and a mop for this wet-ass pussy
Give me everything you got for this wet-ass pussy

This opening is the highlight of the song. It gets worse: It goes into the black hole from there. Something about “niggers”, or maybe it was “niggas”, spitting in mouths, a novel use of credit cards, and other delights.

This song is being pushed in our ears, as the statue above is pushed in our faces. Our cultural leaders say things like this (NBC News): “‘WAP’ by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion is a joyful role reversal. No wonder people are mad. Yes, it’s deliciously filthy. It also follows in the footsteps of many female (and male) artists who have used music to explicitly explore their sexuality.”

A Blue Cheka simped (ellipsis his) “I am not sure why everyone (and Ben Shapiro) is so upset about the Cardi B song….yes it is dirty. But so are a million other songs by male rappers in the last 30 years. Where was all the outrage then? The only difference on this one seems to be that it was done by two women.”

A Blue Cheka gynecologist (with bemasked picture) explained the glorious moisture aspects of the song.

This is only a small sampling of the immense amount of praise heaped upon this primitive noise. Part of the reaction is, of course, because the performer is BLACK! And part is because she is female, and the matriarchy loves nothing better than to talk about their reproductive system.

The song got more notice than the statue, but then statues have always been less popular. The statue is also more avoidable than the noise, which, reports say, is everywhere (millions of views almost immediately on YouTube, number one song in the country by other measures).

In any case, these are only two of an endless and growing number of examples of ugliness foisted on us by our enemies. The post-classical culture they have created must be destroyed, before it destroys us.

  1. A child-sacrificing, money-grabbing conglomeration masquerading as an empire with only mercenaries willing to defend it, we have become Carthage. And we know what should happen next.

  2. The Powers of the Air are paving the way for the Antichrist. To me, this is a big red flag to get our spirits in order and ramp up our endurance. Maranatha!

  3. Hot-glued together is to melt when it’s hot, like real whipped cream. Somehow a drone crashing into whipped cream with a cherry on top lacks anything but a meaning that cannot be printed here, but Freud would have loved. Never fear, the melting will come soon.

It’s not hate. It’s perhaps lust, but mostly massive STUPIDITY. Nothing says “I am among the 95% percentile on the stupid scale” like pieces like this. I was observing yesterday that actors and actresses really should have “complete idiot” tattooed on their forehead. I really wonder that any managed to remember lines and suspect many had large cheat sheets held up just off camera. And Americans worship these idiots. Yes, you reap what you sow.

It’s uglification because people WANT ugly. Remember, failure to fight something is approval of that something. I do believe Briggs puts too much emphasis on the “hatred” and not enough on the “stupid”. Hatred only thrives where stupidity and apathy allow it. Americans and the world DEMANDED AND APPROVED of this. Pure and simple. They want hell on earth and will get it.

Remember, if people had the slightest desire to remove this, it’s very easy. Antifa has shown us the way. Obviously, we don’t want to get rid of the filth. I cannot emphasize enough people want to live in fear, hatred and emptiness and will accept nothing less.

  4. Don’t know Briggs, the statue looks more like an ice cream scoop with a cherry with propellers on it! Kind of a silly looking statue to me. But we have much worse things going on than a silly statue or whatever that’s supposed to be.
Also That rap song is garbage. One reason why I don’t even bother to listen to most of the rap songs out there. It’s a complete waste of time to read or listen to the lyrics of most of these songs. Better to listen to music that’s happy sounding and uplifts your soul with happy lyrics than to listen to garbage that makes you feel down.

  5. When the modern ethos is equality—equality at all costs—the official differentiation of great art from trash cannot be tolerated; such a differentiation becomes a social mistake; for to celebrate great art is to suggest implicitly that there actually are varying levels of accomplishment. And the illiterate black man selling drugs in Trafalgar Square cannot ever be seen to be less civilized than the Macaulay-reading Indian businessman running a used bookshop in Hackney. Our once briefly glorious societies are past saving. The barbarians have won. They will win until the collapse.

  6. I thought the sculpture was better before the unveiling; a big black blob giving us the finger. But the unveiled object does have the virtue of honestly depicting liberal culture as rotting junk food topped with totalitarian surveillance. And the sculpture serves to remind men of God, for surely it is not the product of random billiard balls banging but rather of malicious spirit, which is to say Satan, acting on man’s fallen nature, which proves the Biblical account, and therefore God as well.

  7. Sheri dear, stupid is now equal with smart. Your failure to accept that is evidence of Stupidism.

  8. It looks like something my 5-year old grandson constructed, who then exclaimed triumphantly LOOK WHAT I MADE! All the while waiting expectantly for the gushes of praise for his ingenuity.

Of course after the grandkids go home, you sweep the thing away.

Which what we should do with stuff like this. Pat their heads and so “isn’t that wonderful!” and then take it down, because this is a grown-up world.

    Right?

  9. If its ugly, make it look even uglier! Irreversibly! I am sure there a some wonderful chemical formulas for this.

  10. not sure why everyone (and Ben Shapiro) is so upset about the Cardi B song….yes it is dirty. But so are a million other songs by male rappers in the last 30 years.
Good point about “Art” imitating “life”. Ben wasn’t upset. He was pointing out the obvious descent into silliness. (“This is what feminists fought for”).

It’s a complete waste of time to read or listen to the lyrics of most of these songs.. It’s a complete waste of time to read or listen to the lyrics of most of these songs.
Assuming the words “lyrics” and “songs” apply here. Most of the genre consists of words spoken over a repetitive noisy background. Non-original and anti-musical.

  11. “The haters must be destroyed, removed from power, cast into the outer darkness, scorned, ridiculed, rejected, deplatformed and canceled.”

If you want to do all those things, you must do them in the correct order. The first one is justice, but it precludes the others.

  12. Anthony Daniels wrote one time about how, as a kid, he thought the ugliness of central Birmingham was the fault of the Luftwaffe. He was shocked to discover it was urban planners and architects. (George Costanza, call your office)

Anyone remember “Tilted Arc” in downtown Manhattan? One of the few instances of a popular revolt resulting in the removal of a piece of “art”.

  13. The modern art world is driven by a bunch of fake artists gleefully and knowingly peddling junk art of painted rocks for millions of dollars to sucker art lovers. Somehow they get away with it.

With all the concerns over how women are objectified and generally ill-treated I have never understood how the exceedingly crappy and extremely vulgar rap and hip-hop music by certain of our citizens continues to be completely ignored. How is it possible for the stuff to get air play time?

  14. How is it possible for the stuff to get air play time?

Its listeners have not been exposed to much actual music. The industry keeps reducing the dynamic range until it becomes a cacophony sounding all the same.

  15. Come visit London and get stabbed in the back while you look at the worst placed ice cream advertising thingie in the world. Why is there no ice cream parlour in that building?

  16. Just point out how ice cream cones first appeared in Europe and so were a western/white people invention. In no time the leftist automatons will be out to tear the thing down while the local constabulary looks on in approval.

  17. This travesty is but the latest abomination issuing from an incestuous little artworld that thinks, thanks to Marcel Duchamp, we can no longer ask whether something qualifies as art—as the director of New York’s Museum of Modern Art once declared to me. For my dissenting view, see Bucking the Artworld Tide and Who Says That’s Art? .

  18. Agreed Dav. Much of that rap sounds like a bunch of negative drivel with a repetitive background noise.

  19. Bobcat, music doesn’t have to be happy and uplifting to be beautiful. See Neil Young’s “After the Gold Rush”, Traffic’s “Dear Mr. Fantasy,” Loggins and Messina’s “Same Old Wine,” Buffalo Springfield’s “Broken Arrow,” and I could name dozens more. There can be profound beauty in sadness.

  20. Rap music is Black music, and so it gets a pass from the woke culture. It can say anything, sound like….anything. Add in the female gender and it is doubly protected. Kinda like the “N-word”. Blacks can say it and it’s magically changed. I would think they would want to erase that word from the spoken language completely, but it is part of their….heritage? Is that it?

I know it doesn’t make sense, yet there it is.

  21. There has been a tremendous success in getting the younger generation to dismiss out of hand anything from more than a couple of years ago. They are legitimately astonished to find anything of value from the past, whether that be in the form of music, movies, games, etc.

It’s always been the case that children like newer things that their parents don’t understand, but this seems to be different in quality. “The Wizard of Oz” was well before my time, but I could watch it as a child and enjoy it even if most of what I watched was newer. But now if it’s not new it’s not worth considering. This is part of why you have so many remakes and sequels: if parents want their kids to enjoy The Lion King or Star Wars they can’t just play the original movies, they have to have a new version.

The result of this is that younger people have nothing to compare to when evaluating music and the like. So it is very easy for the mediocre to be hailed as visionary.

  22. It’s the equivalent of a daub of manure, an intentional blight and insult to 19th century neoclassical
Briton. But then so is most of the modern architecture that peppers the skylines of London. It’s all about
disconnecting the people from the pinnacles of human aesthetics, from the classical forms that
are eternal, archetypes that proclaim the existence of God.

  23. Fred, I have no disagreement with you. I never said that sad music could not be beautiful, nor did I say that only happy music should be listened to as such. I only claimed that good, happy music is better than the rap crap out there. I also think and tend to listen to happy sounding music because I think happiness ought to be the normal state of mind as well as the fact that I generally like that kind of mood better in music anyway.

  24. One guy with a couple of come-alongs and some rope/chain could probably make short-work of offending art. You could always say it’s “too white”, if anyone asked.

  25. “Rap music is Black music, and so it gets a pass from the woke culture.”

What enrages me is when people talk as if this is in any way related to the music of Duke Ellington or Count Basie. The collected talent of all of the BLACK ‘artists’ working in ‘R&B’ today wouldn’t be enough to land a fill-in gig in Count Basie’s band.

Say what you will about the swing era, but people had to have actual musical ability to partake in it.

    The

  26. One of the sites I bookmarked recently talked about a researcher/philosopher that went through all the cultures and started categorizing them. The categories mostly have to do with morality – specifically sexual morality.

He said in all areas, architecture, art, civilization, and technology, the empires/civilizations that had a strong moral code and monogamous(read: male + female) relationships advanced the most. Those that embraced the opposite quickly fell into ruin.

In the US I believe its roughly the 60s when “Free Love” thinking proliferated. I mean really proliferated. Then came a progressive deterioration:
    1. Sex before marriage
    2. Common-law partners
    3. Open-ended marriages(meaning the husband/wife can sleep with whoever they want)

    Then we had,
    4. Homosexual relationships
    5. Gay marriages
    6. Transgender

We’re at the most ridiculous stage now. There are various terms for people claiming they don’t belong to any gender, or they are whatever they want to be. Cis-gender is one of them.

One doesn’t have to wonder why petty thieves are common(wasn’t 50 years ago) and why laws are becoming more and more strict, while homicides and violent crimes are on the rise. You listen to 30 mins about their childhood and you instantly understand the reason – Fall of the family unit.

It’s not surprising that art/music has fallen to such a level.

  27. Michael Knight:
    “we have become Carthage”

Yep. The demons are thick as flies on a rotting corpse.

And the stench cries out to heaven.

The rubble and salt will be coming along shortly.

We can, as suggested, do all we can to push back. And are indeed obligated. But my money is on it at the very best being a delaying action.

Nothing short of re-enthroning Christ can turn this around.

And that requires the Church step up to the plate. And because of something like a century of very deliberate, methodical, highly successful, and widespread infiltration, the hierarchy of the Church has been removed from the game.

So the remnant faithful prays and sacrifices for mercy now and does what we can to buy time to try to save what strays we can.

  28. As a non-Christian, I can wholeheartedly agree that a restoration of the moral order is sorely needed. But I would hold that Christianity is not the only source of that order.

  29. We are very near to the end of the road of the society built upon the shifting sands of “order” not built on Christ.

  30. “The post-classical culture they have created must be destroyed, before it destroys us.”

Ignorant people like me have never heard those rap songs. I cannot rap, either. I imagine that there are some good songs in the subculture. Who are they? Eminent or just certain rappers or record companies. How are you going to destroy a certain subculture? Keep praying and ranting, I guess.

Kathleen “We are very near to the end of the road… ” Is that good or bad?

  31. Dear smart, mature, rational, logical, kind, thoughtful and Christian blog host and commentators,

Jesus has heard your words. Please keep garnishing yourself with feathers of those condoning and self-righteous words that surely would make you an angel. Keep living in quarters of everyone-but-me-is-filled-with-evil-intentions-and-stupidity that surely would make you a rich soul.

I hope you have a peaceful life and loving children that all people deserve. Be happy and be kind to yourself and your loved ones because life is too short and death is forever. Love your children the way they are if you cannot change them, after all, you raise them and wise Christians like you are supposed to be the ones with a galaxy-sized heart.

    -A non-Christian Taoist

  32. Oh and flattery is considered a sin by Christians.

Often flattery is unintentional and minor, to the point of being more an imperfection than a sin.

But, overt, intentional flattery is absolutely a sin and counter to Christian Humility.

    Humility is the virtue.

And given all our fallen nature, requires life long effort as do all the virtues.

  33. JH, stop lying. You’re a Taoist. You don’t think Jesus heard anything. Nobody cares about a Taoistt’s idea of how a Christian is supposed to act. It’s irrelevant. I serve the actual Christ, not the Christ JH the Taoist thinks I serve, and your opinions on Christ are worthless to any actual Christians.

If you didn’t think it was acceptable for Christians to talk like this, now you know.

  34. And that kiddies is why men are just so much better at apologetics and evangelization!

Malcolm gets the Christian Hero of the Week award!

True Christianity is a manly religion!

    Seriously! =)

  35. JH,
    Hello, it’s been a while.
I expect you’ve never been to London
Here’s some Christian art from a Christian Cathedral.
Some people are confused between the art which is CONSIDERED sacred and that which is classical. Most architecture has nothing to do with piety. Beauty was the subject. A very wide subject.
Speaking of feathers? Someone removed the feathers from Briggs’ cannibalism and Katy Perry post. Where much phoney outrage was expressed there, too.
(JH, it isn’t up to them )

    https://www.explore-stpauls.net/oct03/textMM/LightWorldN.htm#

  36. No, Peter, that is a postmodernist fallacy. The point of art is not to evoke controversy. It is to embody values and a view of the world in an emotionally compelling form.

  37. Joy,

We will visit London in the near future. We had to cancel all our summer trip this year, but we are optimistic about next summer.

  38. Malcolm the Cynic,

I agree with you. Nobody should care about my idea of how a Christian is supposed to act. (The Taoist way! Yay!) Jesus in my comment is not the actual Christ?! Gee, if I say Jesus didn’t hear your words, you probably would condemn me somehow. But you are right, I lied as I actually have no idea as to whether Jesus has heard you. Of course, feathers don’t make you an angel either. Quarters probably don’t make anyone rich. I have no idea what kind of Christ you serve. Tell me about the Christ you serve.

  39. JH I would love to meet you for tea. When I am able I will try to get into my mail again and give new details.
If not. Go the the Wallace collection in Manchester square (behind Selfridges.). “Best kept secret in London”, (until now. )

  40. Kathleen,

What a sin I have committed. I overtly flattered Christians. I find your comments very funny. Thanks.

“True Christianity is a manly religion!”

True Christianity. Hmm… the word “true” is loaded. Anyway, my prejudice, acquired by actively living among Catholics, doesn’t allow me to believe that you are a woman as your name indicates. You know, people can use any name they wish online. (Note I am simpy telling you about my doubt.)

  41. I agree with you. Nobody should care about my idea of how a Christian is supposed to act.

Guess that ends the discussion then.

Jesus in my comment is not the actual Christ?! Gee, if I say Jesus didn’t hear your words, you probably would condemn me somehow.

Oh, you’re still going? Yeah no duh I’d condemn you. You’re invoking the name of God when you don’t believe in that God. You don’t get to tell us what He is or isn’t listening to and nobody cares if you think he’s listening.

But you are right, I lied as I actually have no idea as to whether Jesus has heard you.

I’m glad you admit it, though it’s strange that the fact that you are openly dishonest doesn’t seem to bother you. It does make it rather hard to have any type of discussion, though. I’d appreciate it more if your contempt was open as opposed to veiled in passive-aggressiveness and lies. Not that I’d appreciate that much either.

I have no idea what kind of Christ you serve.

I don’t serve a “kind of” Christ, I serve the Christ, Jesus. He is a person, and I’m to take up my Cross and follow him. That means partially – per the original topic of this post – promoting the good, true, and beautiful and tearing down the ugly and profane. Among many other things.

Do you want to learn more about Christ? If so feel free to email me at noblesquire1@aol.com and I’ll answer your questions. But maybe stop making sweeping statements about what Christians should and shouldn’t be doing when you yourself admit you neither know not believe in Christ.

  42. JH

I promised myself I wouldn’t get sucked in like the other post Joy mentioned.

You quoted from the article “The post-classical culture they have created must be destroyed, before it destroys us.”

You correctly pointed out the problem with the trying to “destroy” “Our (New) Culture”

It’s the whole “wheat and tares” problem all over. That was a post a while back that I abandoned when somebody said … didn’t understand the word ‘parable’ .. never mind … I’m going to ramble on here a bit

Rap … I’ve heard it … generally don’t like it … In the 90’s, I used to pass through a small rural Wisconsin town and pickup trucks with gun racks and all would be parked here and there and youthful white farm boys replete with farmer tans would be hanging out listening to rap music from their truck stereos … oh well

In the 2000’s, our church youth group leader had a rap segment in the middle of the song: “Lean On Me”.

    Eminent rappers:
Eminem – there was a movie about him -he was a white boy from Detroit trying to break into the business
(I never saw it but I imagine his attempts were as uncomfortable as Buddy Holly at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem – a white boy from Texas who played “n*g*e*” music as it was called then in the 50s)
Will Smith – I’m sure I know of a few more but those two stick out
and (related to our youth director rapping in church)
Kanye West and his Sunday Service and his “Jesus is King” rap album
    No accounting for taste.

Like the old commercial used to go
StarKist doesn’t want tuna with good taste
Starkist wants tuna that tastes good

  43. Just one more comment and then that’s it, promise…as I promised myself I wasn’t going to take the bait on this post either. Especially since it was so very loaded.

Brother yesterday, told a joke about someone serving up Dolphin (ah), he said it was “tuna friendly”

and I can’t believe that “lean on me”. has come up was singing that to myself, too, after it came on radio. It’s been an ear worm for a couple of days. Maybe it’s been ‘trending’ on Twitter…

A female artist did a cover of it for ‘lockdown’ zoom group singing thing. It was a great version. Katherine Jenkins and Vera Lynn captured the moment too. Started wondering if that was the angels singing from the four corners of the earth.

Are media playing tricks on everybody?

  44. Peter:

”The point of art is to evoke controversy and debate. It is doing just that.”

For a man of your superior intelligence, that’s just dumb.

  45. Malcolm the Cynic,

Do you want to learn more about Christ?…

I was not going to reply. However, you are so kind to make this offer. Thank you. (I am not trying to be sarcastic here.) I would be insulting some people around me to  try to learn more about Christ from you, not them.   Furthermore,  “One cannot not carve on rotten wood,” said Confucius.

I’m glad you admit it, though it’s strange that the fact that you are openly dishonest doesn’t seem to bother you.

Trump is my idol. (Darn, I just lied again and am not bothered at all. Chris Wallace would understand.)

I learned something new. If I, a non-believer, simply mention the name of Jesus or repeat what a Christian would say to other people,  according to you and possibly other Christians,  I am trying to tell Christians what He is or not,  or what He is doing or not doing.  And I don’t get to do so.

Hmmmm. Briggs does not believe in science, …

That Briggs doesn’t believe in science doesn’t imply that he doesn’t know science at all.

  46. John B(),

I promised myself I wouldn’t get sucked in like the other post Joy mentioned.

I am not sure what this is about. I haven’t visited this blog much. I am here trying to understand something/someone as the solution to untie a bell often rests on the person who tied the bell.

I appreciate that you take the time to respond to my comments. I always learn something from others.

  47. The sculpture is whimsical and true. Drones are like flies and they do get stuck in our ice cream—our joy. It’s a bit simplistic and obvious, but as a simple statement about surveillance technology it’s accurate. The form is frivolous and like an emoji; but that’s what life is like in the contemporary West—it’s like an emoticon or a Snapchat, and so is our art.

Anyway, the number four is always associated with the Luciferian or demonic, so the fourth plinth has to be a little bit mischievous or naughty. More interestingly, at first I thought that the covering that concealed the sculpture was the work. I thought the sculpture was a plastic rubbish bag; this is the concealed truth of the piece: our society is junk and needs to be thrown out.

As for the pop music, it’s crude and debased—it doesn’t even have the unaffected brutality of real primitivism. But, again, it’s basically true: modern girls are whores—hardly any of them are saving themselves for marriage, except in tiny religious communities that live parallel lives to the mainstream and serve as mildly amusing fodder for documentaries.

If art is meant to reflect reality, then the sculpture and the song are sound representations of our Western reality: frivolous, whimsical, and debauched. Sounds about right to me. If you want heroic and beautiful art, you’ll have to make heroic and beautiful lives; then the art will arrive to reflect that reality. Perhaps there are artists making such art, but they are, for the moment, marginalised; they are the dreamers of the day attempting to bring their imagined world into reality—and they will be scorned in their own lives, though celebrated later.

  48. JH – sorry – just saw your query

“I am not sure what this is about. I haven’t visited this blog much”? (Long Story, but…first)
I HAVE seen you from time to time over the years? (You’ve upset Briggs a time or two?)

Search Briggs site for Will Ferrell [What Do Sex Cults, Spirit Cooking, Cannibalism, and Will Ferrell Have to do With Each Other? BY BRIGGS ON MAY 8, 2018 • ( 124 COMMENTS )

Two years ago, somebody said something rather untoward about the CHURCH and somebody came in its defense in a not overly Christlike manner (well as if Jesus was throwing out the money changers) and all you-know-what broke loose … Briggs shut comments down after about a week.

Later in the year, Joy discovered she could comment and said “Hello, World” and the defender was back on her … she left. Now two years later one of the current crop of commenters saw what had transpired and offered an explanation of what goes on with a Catholic Mass. I noticed the comment list and the topic and went there curious

Saw that comments were on, that Joy had discovered it, and gave a shout out to her … well all you-know-what-broke loose again … in the end I was sorry because he turned out to be an obviously hurting person …

In the end I tried to make some peace by telling him more about myself than I might otherwise, but…

  49. Tom Hart

Excellent! Exactly what I was thinking

Regarding … ” More interestingly, at first I thought that the covering that concealed the sculpture was the work” … I thought that as well, only I thought it looked like a cartoon arm (popeye or Alladin’s genie only black) with the middle finger extended. I saw it was a “move” and expected the arm to swivel and point the middle finger up.

  50. Perhaps if people “have” to look at or listen to something it’s because there is something worth looking at or listening to. Not all art is about beauty any more than all literature is nothing more than light comedy.

  51. JH,
Maybe late summer or NEXT summer! Hope you didn’t have to cancel
    Here we are again,
This is the “artist” I was thinking about and found this last week or so, as well.

Everybody tuned into ‘media’ are thinking about similar things at the same time, or someone’s playing tricks with google search returns and cookies in general.
