On Earth Day, pope says nature will not forgive our trespasses

Pope Francis made an impassioned plea for protection of the environment on Wednesday’s 50th anniversary of the first Earth Day, saying the coronavirus pandemic had shown that some challenges had to be met with a global response…

“We see these natural tragedies, which are the Earth’s response to our maltreatment,” Francis said. “I think that if I ask the Lord now what he thinks about this, I don’t think he would say it is a very good thing. It is we who have ruined the work of God.”

Saying the Earth was not an endless deposit of resources to exploit, he said: “We have sinned against the Earth, against our neighbour and, in the end, against the creator.”

Nature is out to get us. So it’s best we worship her.

Priests have begun removing crucifixes from altars and replacing them with boughs of hemlock. This was not an arbitrary move. The proposed changes were put to a vote at last Sunday’s masses, and since no parishioners objected, the plan was adopted.

Trump administration considers cutting intel ties with countries that criminalize homosexuality

The Trump administration is mulling cutting back on its intelligence ties with countries that criminalize homosexuality in an effort to press those nations to change their laws, according to acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell.

“We can’t just simply make the moral argument and expect others to respond in kind because telling others that it’s the right thing to do doesn’t always work,” Grenell said in an interview with The New York Times published Wednesday. “To fight for decriminalization is to fight for basic human rights.”

Grenell, believed to be the first openly gay Cabinet member, has put an emphasis on promoting anti-discrimination efforts. Before he joined the intel community, he worked to assemble gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender groups from the U.S. and other countries in his role as ambassador to Germany.

Grenell told the Times he has the backing of the White House, saying, “We have the president’s total support.”

“This is an American value, and this is United States policy,” he said.

Sodomy—a wholesome, American value!

The article continues: “Nearly 70 countries criminalize homosexuality, including U.S. intelligence partners like Egypt, Kenya and Saudi Arabia.”

Say, this sounds like it could turn into some embarrassing Islamophobia.

Harvard professor wants to ban homeschooling because it’s ‘authoritarian’

A Harvard University law professor has sparked controversy after calling for a ban on homeschooling.

Elizabeth Bartholet told Harvard Magazine that it gives parents “authoritarian” control over their kids — and can even expose them to white supremacy and misogyny.

“The issue is, do we think that parents should have 24/7, essentially authoritarian control over their children from ages zero to 18? I think that’s dangerous,” Bartholet said. “I think it’s always dangerous to put powerful people in charge of the powerless, and to give the powerful ones total authority.”

Ignore the obvious fallacy of supposing the government-run educational authority would be and is even more authoritarian than parents.

Instead look at the deeper problem. Government education is run by experts, highly credentialed people. PhDs! They have “studied” and “researched.” Parents have not. Experts therefore know better what is best for kids.

Kids should therefore be removed from parental influence to prevent white supremacy, and so forth.

If you thought government experts had power in a pandemic, wait until the full import of this argument sinks in.

“Grenell, believed to be the first openly gay Cabinet member …”
believed and openly?? one of those words doesn’t fit.

The Pope is a false prophet and seems determined to worship Satan. That he makes up garbage about a sentient earth is just one more example of his dark allegiance. He shows no love for God or most humans. The hemlock definitely proves who is worshipped. I expect the church to go full on Satan worship and remove all evidence of God soon. Too bad they don’t use the hemlock for something more useful…..

Welcome to Big Brother. No one objected, no one fought back, so here it is. Why the world is sheep I don’t know, but the wolves are having a heyday and it seems everyone is happy that way.

Yes, we definitely cannot have any morals any more. Remember that when the hemlock gets used by Big Brother. Or the Islamic nations take over and our “morality” costs thousands of lives. Whichever.

College students reading at third grade level. Isn’t that darling?

No surprise on the homeschooling. Academia never wanted it anyway. As for calling it “authoritarian”, whatever Harvard calls something else is what they are really saying they are. Projection is the only language the progressives speak. (I have a suggestion for what to do with “experts”, but it can’t be printed here.)

Police states exist because PEOPLE DO NOT CARE AND DO NOTHING TO STOP THEM. I cannot feel at all sorry for any of this. Stupid people end up sheep and are a mutton dinner for the wolves. If one wishes to be destroyed or abused or mistreated in the name of sheephood, it’s their right. Stupid has a price, but people obviously do not care what that price is. I absolutely DO NOT BELIEVE there was an American revolution over a tea tax. I don’t even believe there was a revolution. It had to be a fabrication. We are so stupid and helpless we never could have been a free people. It was all an illusion, a fake history. Americans could never have had that courage or that much fight to them. Not looking at the sorry pieces of worthless crap we are today.

Oh, and for those wondering how Trump won in this bunch of wimpy, sad, lazy, stupid people, there was hope the man could walk on water and fix everything. It was not a sign of hope, but rather a desperate attempt to get a better life while still not doing anything. Trump is just a guy the lazy Americans hoped would do all the work. Everyone knows the minute his term ends, it’s over for this country. All of it. Sheep just cannot, will not, do not save themselves. Once the shepherd is dead, so are the sheep.

  4. This has been a test of the emergency powers system. Had there been an actual emergency, you would have noticed. This has only been a test.

    And we all failed.

What’s a Pope to do he’s joining ‘the end is near’ bandwagon in order
to maintain some semblance of relevance. He’s cast himself in the
roll of Virtue Signaler in Chief having abrogated any claim to
epistemological authority long ago. A Marxist through and through
antithetical to Western Christianity an enemy of civilization itself.
We’re all going to get a taste of what the Green Mob’s been pushing in
the form of want and deprivation, clear & empty sky’s, empty streets
& stores, empty hearts and minds. Just stay within that two square
yards allotted to you and no one will get hurt.

Pope Francis really, really, really needs a conversion to the reality that people can only sin against each other and against God…..which is often the same thing, as sinning against another person is wrong because each person is made in the image and likeness of God.

My total prayer and hope is that the Trump Administration does business as the Holy Spirit leads regarding other countries.

Grenelli is is correct that homosexuality “…. is an American value…..”, for those Americans who have let go of God’s purpose for human sexuality. If the Trump Administration follows through with Grenelli’s desire, that will be one more nail in the coffin for the United States as it will have turned even further from God, as that follow through will join the murders lawfully committed each month to the tune of 3,000 of God’s babies a day…. 90,000 of His babies a month in the United States alone.

Believe it or not, Putin desires to not allow same sex unions….

As for the books list, I was glad to see The Hunger Games and The Screwtape Letters on the list.

I have seen The Hunger Games movies, and the first movie was done the best as the others had places where the use of the story just seemed to be filling space.

But, the books, all three, were very good reads. I thought the whole plot idea very awful when I first heard of it, but instead, the story tells of many young people saving the lives of others and sacrificing themselves if it came to that. Jesus is not named, but I do think that altruism would only last so long, so I believe that God helped out very much and would totally do so in real life.

The Screwtape Letters is an excellent choice.

Children are to remain with their parents. But, so many children now only have a single mom. Where are the men??? We all need to get back to knowing that we, each of us, are gifts from God, created by Him, to live for Him, and that here is only for a time.

    God bless, C-Marie

ABS is encouraged that Pope Francis has found something to be judgmental about.

    Sodomy? Eh…

But damage to Mommy Earth? Stop that…

Have you ever been to a dedicated sanctuary or preserve and seen a sign that reads “This is a delicate eco-system” or some other such claptrap? It makes one think that all eco-systems are delicate or sensitive – like a volcano or a jungle.

Where elephants go to die is the same place the excess skin cut off of Judy Woodruff’s face is buried.
